q. Who does what in Discordia?
a. Well this is what has changed the most in this new incarnation of Discordia. Different schedules, and other life hazards have made it really complticated to work as coordinatedly as we used to. So me, Aisaku is creating both pictures and words, still with Wraith's advice whenever possible. You could say he's an editor of sorts, improving dialogue and helping get my ideas into a whole story. I'll try to collaborate with him as much as possible, while still taking the full responsability of getting the comic out.
q. How do you make the Discordia pages?
a. To make Discordia I use a variety of graphite tools: Ebony pencil, mechanical pencil, lead holder, normal pencils. A most invaluable help comes in the form of a hastily put lightbox, keeps the art cleaner but sometimes the art comes clean enough to scan.I draw the panels separate, from a mere 4x4 inch to a full A3 page... Scan them and put them together in the usual graphics apps. I adjust the contrast and clean most of the stray lines and bits, still keeping it sketchy.
Here's another change... where I used to do the panels separatedly to put togheter in the computer, I'm now doing pages in a single sheet as professional comic artists do, laying the page out by hand.
q. How old is Schism now?
a. Schism's age seems to have stabilized to somewhere aroudn 9 years old and running to a normal pace since the day where she goes to Betty's bed and tells her she wishes she'd still get older...and maybe that's for the best.
